The Children of Huang Shi is not a perfect film. In fact, some Christian reviews are negative. But what I appreciate about the film is that it is based on the true story of an ambitious reporter (George Hogg) who suddenly found himself with the opportunity to serve 60+ war-orphans in China. As a result, his life took a radical shift. He went from being a man who cared about making a name for himself to one who gave himself to care for orphans, even when the threat of losing his life was very real.
If you have not yet seen The Children of Huang Shi, let me encourage you to consider watching it sometime over the next few weeks. As I watched it, I found myself wanting to love orphans more deeply.

Just put it in my netflix, will have to check it out when I get a chance. Thanks for the recommendation.
Josh, let me know what you think. I enjoyed it so much I purchased a copy.
By the way, Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ acting is superb.
Great movie. Great picture of allowing God to lead you. Although not directly talking about God, imagine if our lives were lived like Hogg. Allowing God to break our hearts for the orphans, and go to the ends of the earth to help them.
Also amazing cinematography. Some great scenes and great camera shots.
Thanks for the recommendation Dan.
