Cruver Christmas Adopted for Life

Since God sent His Son to be born of a woman so that we might receive adoption as sons, Christmas provides a unique opportunity to celebrate our Adoption by God. Jesus was born in Bethlehem to redeem us so that we could be brought into the family of God for life (forever). Therefore, to celebrate Christmas is to celebrate our vertical Adoption.

Christmas also provides an opportunity for Christians to celebrate horizontal adoption. Just as earthly families reflect the eternal Fatherhood of God (Ephesians 3:15), adoptive families reflect the adoptive family God (Ephesians 1:5).

So, as a way of celebrating Adoption and adoption this Christmas season, we would like you to send in a picture of your family (whether you have adopted or not) holding a copy of Adopted for Life in front of your Christmas tree. E-mail your pictures to dan.cruver@togetherforadoption. I’ll add pictures to this post as I receive them.

[Note: If you do not own a copy of Adopted for Life but would still like to join the celebration, please don't hesitate to send in your family picture. Let me encourage you, though, to purchase a copy sometime this month. It's an excellent book!]
