Great Line from The Blind Side: “My son!”

by Dan Cruver Published Aug 12, 2009

In this “The Blind Side” trailer there is a GREAT line by Sandra Bullock that illustrates the beauty of the miracle of transracial adoption in both its horizontal (a family’s adoption of a child) and vertical dimensions (God’s adoption of us). No matter our human ethnicity, when God adopts us through Jesus Christ, we are all equally His children!

I must admit, Sandra Bullock’s line moved me to tears, both because of what it means to me as a father of a multi-ethnic family and because of what it means to me as a son in God’s multi-ethnic family.

About the Movie: “The Blind Side” is the true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, adopted by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family. Oher was a First Round draft pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, selected by the Baltimore Ravens. The Touhys were there to share the moment with him.
