My friend Dr. Becca McBride is the new appointed Assistant Professor, Political Science at Calvin College in Grand Rapids. Becca possesses a brilliant mind and who has been an immense help to me over the years in my interacting in the secular adoption field.

Here first voice as a Calvin professor was published today by The Center for Public Justice is a think-tank that focuses on public justice from a Christian perspective.

Becca’s opening line, you ask? “Our responsibility to take care of ‘the orphan’ is not satisfied simply by encouraging Christians to adopt vulnerable children.”

Dr. Becca McBride’s bio: Becca McBride is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Calvin College, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her research focuses on investigating how politics influence states’ efforts to control intercountry adoption, and how advocacy organizations influence state policy on adoption. She has a PhD in Political Science from Vanderbilt University and an MA in Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies from Georgetown University.
