Who will be at NatCon 2013 - Johnny Carr

Johnny Carr, author of Orphan Justice: How to Care for Orphans Beyond Adoption, is the emcee for our October 4-5 National Conference at Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY.

What should we do for those orphans (by far the majority) who are not, nor ever will be, adoptable?

That’s the question I opened with when I blogged about the release of Johnny’s book Orphan Justice this past March. If “religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction” (James 1:27), then my question about the (un)adoptable is not only one we must wrestle with, it’s also one we must answer and act upon.

In Orphan Justice: How to Care for Orphans Beyond Adopting, my good friend Johnny Carr has wrestled long and hard with that question to help us answer and act upon it. That’s one of the reasons I asked Johnny to emcee this year’s conference. He’ll be a reliable guide for us as we explore our conference theme: “The Story that Changes Everything for Us and the Fatherless.”
