October 26 Conference in Columbia, SC

by Dan Cruver Published Oct 9, 2012

Senator Jim DeMint’s office is excited to once again be partnering with leaders in SC’s adoption and foster care community to present the 2012 Finding Families Adoption and Foster Care Conference. See PDF flyer.

This year, Senator Jim DeMint’s office is pleased to welcome Hope for Orphans to South Carolina as the conference keynote. As many of you know, Hope for Orphans is a nationally-known organization of professionals dedicated to equipping churches with information and very practical “how-to’s” as they seek to fulfill the call of James 1:27 – “to care for…orphans.” They have helped developed successful partnerships with Social Services, non-profits and churches in other states to further the goal of “no waiting child.” Hope for Orphans will share vision and strategies for what is possible in South Carolina.

The statistics in South Carolina are sobering. Did you know:

As of mid-September, there are approximately 3,300 children in the SC foster care system?

1,311 of these children are in the adoption plan pipeline and 530 are immediately eligible for adoption?

Between 300-400 children “age out” of the system each year without knowing the permanency and love of a forever family?

Learn more about this October 26th conference in Columbia, South Carolina and how South Carolina’s citizens and faith communities can catch the vision and answer the call.
