Providing gospel-centered resources to mobilize the church for global orphan care.

Back in the early part of 2011, we had the privilege of serving Ethiopia’s orphans by partnering with Kidmia Adoption and the wonderful work they are doing in Ethiopia. Our part in the partnership was to have Reclaiming Adoption translated into Amharic to be given to Ethiopian pastors (Amharic is the most widely spoken language in Ethiopia). Because of the generosity of donors, Reclaiming Adoption was translated into Amharic and 1,000 copies were printed and distributed to 250 Ethiopian pastors (see a sample page of the translation).

Kidmia sent out a newsletter today with an update on what God has been doing through the Ethiopian church to care for Ethiopia’s orphans. Amazing. The news of what God is doing through Kidmia’s efforts to serve Ethiopian churches is just too good not to be shared. Here’s an excerpt:

The First Seed Adoption workshop was held in Ethiopia in June 2011. A total of 530 senior and influential pastors and their wives attended the workshop, and as a result, 37 couples made the decision to adopt an orphaned or abandoned child into their family. Six of those adoptions have already been completed!

Read the whole newsletter. Let it encourage you to continue doing what you can for the sake of the orphan.
