Providing gospel-centered resources to mobilize the church for global orphan care.

What’s Tom Davis, transracial adoption, Awaiting a Savior and the end of poverty have to do with each other? For one, they are all coming “together for adoption” this next week for our national conference. Here is what I mean:

First, Children’s Hope Chest is sponsoring a special lunch with Tom Davis from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, October 21st at our conference in Phoenix. The first 200 people to regsiter for this luncheon will receive a free copy of Tom’s book Fields of the FatherlessRegister here for free.

Second, Vermon Pierre is doing a breakout session on transracial adoption during our 4th breakout slot. It’s turning out to be the largest breakout session at the conference! I interviewed Vermon and Dennae Pierre this past March at one of our house conferences (video below). Dennae is also one of our keynote speakers for this pre-conference event for women (only $25 per person).

Third, the author (Aaron Armstrong) of Awaiting a Savior: The Gospel, The New Creation and the End of Poverty is one of our Featured Bloggers and will be representing Cruciform Press at the conference. You’ll want to pick up a copy of his book whether you’re attending our conference or not. Here is the endorsement I wrote for Aaron’s book:

“Awaiting a Savior is a compelling and captivating book that looks at global poverty through the wide-angle lens of the gospel. Aaron Armstrong’s book will likely change the way you look at the problem of poverty in our world and how you think about addressing it. But what I love most about Awaiting a Savior is that it empowers us to care for the poor by making much of Jesus.”

These are three of a boat load of reasons to join us in Phoenix for Together for Adoption 2011. We’d love to have you join us. There is still time to register.
